I think that Hassan and Omar are happy and sad to leave for America. They are happy because they might find their mom after all. It’s also sad that they leave because Fatuma can’t take care of the boys she took care of for 7 years and they are finally getting resettled. According to the text, Fatuma is glad the boys are getting resettled. I wonder when and if Fatuma will get resettled. Based off of what I read, the boys feel nervous and in despair to find their mom.
I agree that Fatuma is sad that Omar and Hassan are getting resettled. I hope she does get resettled to America to be with them.
